Each year, I typically take vacation the week following Thanksgiving. Opening Day in Pennsylvania is always the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and I like to hunt the entire week. If I tag out early, I still enjoy spending time out here. I feel close to my family, I love the cold weather, and it’s a nice opportunity to reset.

With two young children, finding time to write can be difficult. And so, this year, I was excited to write between hunts. Originally, I was just going to catch up on a few pieces. I wasn’t expecting it to turn into what it has.

Growing up, my parents would frequently remind me that I am the sum of my closest friends. It’s a common adage, but it’s one I’ve always taken to heart. In business, I’ve been careful to audit both my mentors and partners, to ensure I am only surrounding myself with individuals who reflect my values and push me towards integrity. Because, whether we like it or not, perception is reality and proximity is endorsement.
